Skipping Stones Sketch and Fancy Pants Wave Searcher

Hi everyone!!!  Thanks for stopping in today.  I gotta admit, I have been SUPER busy for awhile now, and things are finally slowing down.  I plan to enjoy that.  :)  Dreaming of curling up on the couch with a good book.  We'll see how things go.

Anyways...

Today is my last sketch as guest designer over at Skipping Stones Design.   Here's the sketch I came up with:

And this is the card I created...it is a little bit different.

The stamp set I used for this card is called Uplifting.  And the papers and chipboard are all from Fancy Pants Designs' new Summer Soul collection.

Come play along with this challenge here.

** And just in case I haven't mentioned it before, you do NOT have to have any Skipping Stones Design stamps to participate in the sketch challenge.  So come play with us!  :)

And now I have some more new Fancy Pants projects to share.  Yesterday we featured the Wave Searcher collection on the Fancy Pants blog.  Here are a couple projects from me:

I really love the way this layout turned out.  Pulled out my good and faithful circle punch once again.  :)

Here are some close up's of my layout:

And I also have a cute card to share that uses this collection.  :)

Make sure you stop by the Fancy Pants blog to see what others have created with this cool collection.  :)

And for those of you who watched the Bachelor last night...did you even see that coming?  Maybe it was just me, but that girl was my favorite.  Hmmm....  Do you guys watch The Bachelor?  Just curious.

Have a FANTASTIC day!!!!

Our God Continually Amazes Me.

It's nothing new.  I should be used to being amazed by God.

Lately I have been working on kind of a big project.

I had a deadline of Jan. 31st.

All of January was one of he busiest months ever.  And I had more work to do than I usually do in 3 months (non-book, scrapbooking/CHA related).  I was feeling the pressure.  Yet I kept getting requests for more projects.  I was going to turn them down and tell them that I just didn't have t he time, but I felt God nudging me to take the assignments.  If I kept taking the other assignments than I knew I had to completely rely on God to get this book done.  If I was so busy with other stuff, it only would make it clearer that it was not my strength that would get it done, but God's.  It's like He was saying "just so we are clear--this is MY project."

Well I finished typing it up last night.

It is now completely in God's hands.

And I cannot boast of getting it done.
I have no idea how it actually got done.
Well, that's not true.
It was God.

And why should I be surprised?
Nothing is impossible with God.

Came across this cool verse...I really like the Message's version, so I will leave you with that:

"Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives.  That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse.  We have far more interesting things to do with our lives.  Each of us is an original."

Galatians 5: 25-26 (MSG)

What's Up?

Umm...clouds, birds, airplanes, blimps, hot air balloons....

Do you love these things as much as I do?  And put these with some fun, pretty colors and you've got one of BasicGrey's new collections called "What's Up?".  And oh how I love it.  :)  It does also include some ships, as well as flowers, chevron and other pretty designs so it can be used for so many projects.

And have you seen BasicGrey's frames that they sell?  They make some that are perfect for altering.  Here's some coordinating frames that I made for CHA using the What's Up? line.

I created a similar chevron pattern with punched squares on my large frame to match the chevron design on the smaller frame.  Here's a close look at the bigger frame:

And a closer look at the smaller frame:

I really do love this collection and I can't wait to play a bit more with it.  :)

Hope you are having a fantastic day!!!  If you are checking in from CHA...lucky you.  I am not there this time (but that is ok).  I do hope to see lots of pictures from the show...so if you know of some, link them up please!

On My Playlist

Now More Than Ever
Sung by Brandon Heath

Dig my hands into the earth
Sometimes I need You so bad, it hurts

I want You now more than ever
I've been living in a foreign land
Confession of a broken man
I want You now more than ever

The more I see, the more I want
The more I know, it doesn't stop
Your beauty speaks to call me home
Now more than ever

The more I feel that You are here
The more the world disappears
And all I want is to be home
Now more than ever

So tell me something that I haven't heard
I'll be hanging on every word
I want You now more than ever
How long must You make me wait?
Give me hope, give me strength
I want You now more than ever

The more I see, the more I want
The more I know, it doesn't stop
Your beauty speaks to call me home
Now more than ever

The more I feel that You are here
The more the world disappears
And all I want is to be home
Now more than ever

I will keep my eyes open
Keep my eyes open, face to the sky

I will keep my eyes open
Keep my eyes open for You

Speaking of Brandon Heath...they play this song on the radio a lot...maybe too much.  But I absolutely LOVE the words, so I just have to post it too.  :)

Give Me Your Eyes
Sung by Brandon Heath

Look down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights

My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight

Touch down on the cold black top
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breath in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos

All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared

Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me you heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide what’s underneath

There's a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
He's out of work, He's buying time

All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared

Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me you heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

I’ve been here a million times
A couple of million eyes
Just move and pass me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong

I need a second glance
Give me a second chance
To see the way you’ve seen the people all along

That one is the prayer of my soul.

Summer Studs

Today I am sharing a couple of projects using the new Summer Soul collection from Fancy Pants.

But first I just have to share with you that when I showed Austin this layout, his face just lit up!  I love that!  He was thrilled that I called him a stud.  :)  It's those little things that really matter.

He IS a stud!  :)

So is his brother.

Anyways...on to the layout, right....

I just love that Fancy Pants has brought stamps back into their collections!  Those sunbursts along the top and the bottom right are stamped.  :)

Anyways, here are some close up's of my layout:

And then I have a card to share as well.  But if I'm honest, I am not entirely happy with the way it turned out.  Oh well, right.  Here it is:

Stop by the Fancy Pants blog today to see more projects made with this fun collection!  :)

Happy Friday!

Patchwork is FUN!

Ok...so if you have paid any attention to my work at all, then you probably have noticed that I love to use patchwork designs.  So I was thrilled when I found out that this week was going to be Patchwork Week on The ScrapCake's blog.

Here's the layout that I created for Patchwork Week:

Instead of just making a background of squares, I tried to mix it up a little and make it slightly different than my typical patchwork layouts...thus the blocks of four 1" squares with the space in between each one.

I used the fabulous "The Bright Side of Life" collection from The ScrapCake for this layout.

Here are some close up's:

I made that "Sleepover" title with my Cameo.  And then added some fun stitching to my title.  I love the way this layout turned out...it's very me.  :)

I hope you are having the best of weeks!  Thanks for stopping in!  And I will be back tomorrow with more new Fancy Pants!  ;)

My position :)

God is with me.

He is my joy.
My constant companion.

Even when I do something wrong--
we talk about it.

Yes, we talk.

I love Him.
I love who He is making me out to be.

He gives me hope in all things.

Fancy Some More New Fancy Pants Projects?

You ready for some more?  :)

Well today we are featuring projects using the brand new Childish Things collection from Fancy Pants.  Make sure you stop by the Fancy Pants blog too to see what the other designers did with the collection.

Here's what I did...

I loved this paper that I used for the background and couldn't wait to use it.  I really love the way this turned out.  :)  Here are some close up's:

I can't tell you how much I LOVE that picture I got of my mom!  It's just totally her.  :)

Here's another layout, and before you ask, yes it is from the same collection.  Completely different look though.  :)

What a girly, fun layout.  This collection is absolutely perfect for Miss Eryn.  :)  I was originally going to do a patchwork design on the background, but then made the decision to just scatter a few of the squares on there for a much more random look.  And I really like it!  Here are the close up's:

And then I also have a card to share using this fun collection...

You can tell that I love those adorable boys and girls with the crowns...I used them on all three of my projects.  :)

Well, thanks so much for stopping in today!!!

Have a fantastic day!

Skipping Stones Designs Sketch

Well it's Tuesday again...and you know what that means!  Another one of my card sketches is up on the Skipping Stones Design blog.  Here's the sketch:

And here is the card I made using this sketch.  :)

I used the beautiful Always Here stamp set and a little bit of the Grunge 2 stamp set.  My papers come from the new Be You collection from Fancy Pants...yep, the same collection that I shared a bunch of projects using it yesterday.  :)  I'm still playing.  Can't put it down.

I do hope you play along with this week's sketch, go here to play along.  :)

And in case you missed it...

You can win the new collections from The ScrapCake.  Check it out here.

Well the mad rush of CHA work is over.  I think.  I've gotten everything done and shipped off.  That's always a good feeling.  :)  Now I've got another BIG project I need to try to finish this week.

Thanks for stopping in!  Take care and have fun!

Projects using the NEW STUFF!!! :)

Yeah!!!!   I can finally start sharing some of the stuff I have made with the new releases for CHA.  I really LOVE this part of being on design teams.  :)

So if you stopped by the Fancy Pants blog last week, then you saw the new releases.  Today on the blog they are sharing some of our projects made with the FABULOUS new Be You collection.  So make sure you stop by to see what the others did too.  Here's some fun stuff that I did:

I just LOVE the colors and patterns in this collection.  I focused on some of my favorites and cut out large hearts to splatter all over my background.  I then cut a border and cut the words out and I had a finished layout.  :)

Here are my close up's:

And I also have a card to share:

It's a pretty simple card just showcasing the beautiful papers.  :)

And then I also have a fun project.  :)  I used parts of one of Fancy Pants' albums, the Be You line, and a bunch of their fun metal frames.

That last picture was taken at a slight angle so I didn't have my refection in it.  :)

Well there you have it.  What do you think of the collection now that you have seen it in action?  :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll be sharing more soon!!!
